Sad snowman

We've had some lovely warm weather so Yules and I have been spending some time exploring outside! Dare I say that Spring is on it's way here?

We built a snowman! For peeps that don't typically get snow, there's a little bit of a science involved. People assume there's snow so you can build a snowman anytime you want! WRONG! First of all you need to wait till there's enough snow, then you need to wait till it's the perfect temperature. A nice, warm, sunny, winter day just below freezing is perfect in my opinion. The snow can't be too wet and heavy or soft and powdery! The snow needs to be able to pack together well. Anyways, we kinda missed the mark on the perfect snowman making conditions this year, so our snowman is a sad little one that didn't stick around for very long! His accessories make him way less sad looking then he really is! lol

The Kalbster helped add the "arms"!!

We also had fun exploring the melting snow, discovering ice "glass" and splashing in puddles!

Igloo Continued...

So you can totally bet that after my rant about the IGLOO, I felt a need to teach Yules about igloos my way!!

So we read books about igloos, looked up pictures on the internet and learned that humans live in igloos!!

Yules painted an igloo and wrote the word igloo by herself!

We tried to build an igloo outside but we're kinda lacking in the snow department this year... so it's a bit of a sad igloo! haha

We built igloos out of legos and blocks and magnatiles and magnaformers and pretty much anything we could build with! Mine is on the left and Yulli's is on the right!

Husband and Yules even tried making an igloo inside our sensory table with snow and ice cubes!

We are definitely iglooed-out around here but I think Yules had a great time learning and exploring igloos!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Kalbs and Yules wish all of you a super fabulous Valentine's Day filled with love and more love!!

Spring soon??

I'm not sure if Spring will be here soon (apparently the groundhog died... eeek) or if the warmer weather has me disillusioned. But it was definitely time for the last of the Christmas decorations to be put away and a few Springy touches around the house. I slightly updated our DIY Christmas center piece and made it Springy!

Yules wanted in on the faux flower action too, so she made a couple of her own floral arrangements!
